Description

  • Provide compassionate and empathetic counseling to individuals and couples seeking fertility treatment, including those undergoing IVF, donor conception, surrogacy, and other assisted reproductive technologies.
  • Conduct initial assessments and psychosocial evaluations of patients to understand their emotional needs, fertility-related concerns, coping mechanisms, and support systems, and develop individualized counseling plans accordingly.
  • Offer guidance and support to patients throughout the IVF process, including pre-treatment counseling, treatment decision-making, medication management, treatment protocols, and emotional preparation for procedures such as egg retrieval and embryo transfer.
  • Facilitate open and honest discussions about fertility treatment options, including risks, benefits, success rates, and ethical considerations, ensuring patients have the information they need to make informed decisions aligned with their values and preferences.
  • Address patients' emotional reactions to fertility challenges, including stress, anxiety, depression, grief, and relationship issues, using evidence-based counseling techniques, such as cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based interventions, and solution-focused therapy.
  • Provide education and resources on coping strategies, stress management techniques, lifestyle modifications, and self-care practices to help patients navigate the emotional ups and downs of the IVF journey and promote overall well-being.
  • Collaborate with fertility specialists, reproductive endocrinologists, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals involved in patient care to ensure integrated and holistic support for patients undergoing fertility treatment.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of counseling sessions, patient assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in accordance with ethical and legal standards of practice.
