Description
- Generate and process bills for inpatient services, including room charges, procedures, medications, and other related expenses.
- Review patient records, diagnosis codes, and procedure codes to ensure accurate billing and compliance with coding guidelines.
- Prepare and submit insurance claims electronically or manually, following up on claim status and addressing any denials or rejections.
- Verify insurance coverage, obtain pre-authorizations, and coordinate with insurance companies to resolve claim issues and ensure timely reimbursement.
- Manage the revenue cycle for inpatient services, from patient registration and charge capture to claims processing and payment posting.
- Monitor billing metrics, key performance indicators (KPIs), and revenue cycle trends to identify areas for improvement and optimize billing operations.
- Implement strategies to minimize billing errors, reduce claim denials, and maximize revenue generation for inpatient services.
- Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits eligibility for inpatient admissions and procedures.
- Obtain pre-authorization and pre-certification from insurance companies for planned inpatient services, surgeries, and other medical procedures as required.
