Overview:

 

The Billing Executive for Inpatient and Outpatient services plays a crucial role in managing the financial aspects of healthcare services provided to patients within a medical facility. This role involves overseeing the billing process for both inpatient and outpatient services, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with relevant regulations. The Billing Executive collaborates with various departments within the healthcare facility to gather necessary information and resolve billing discrepancies, while also maintaining patient confidentiality and providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities:

1.Billing Management:

  • Generate bills accurately and timely for both inpatient and outpatient services rendered.
  • Verify and ensure completeness of billing information, including patient demographics, medical codes, and insurance details.
  • Review and reconcile billing records to identify discrepancies or inconsistencies.
  • Maintain updated knowledge of billing procedures, codes, and regulations to ensure compliance with industry standards.

2.Insurance Coordination:

  • Verify patients' insurance coverage and eligibility for inpatient and outpatient services.
  • Submit insurance claims accurately and promptly, following up on outstanding claims as needed.
  • Collaborate with insurance companies to resolve claim denials or rejections, providing necessary documentation and clarification.

3.Patient Interaction:

  • Respond to patient inquiries regarding billing, insurance coverage, and payment options in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Assist patients in understanding their bills and resolving any billing-related concerns or disputes.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in handling sensitive financial information.

4.Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of billing activities, payments received, and outstanding balances.
  • Generate financial reports and analyses as needed to track billing trends, revenue, and collections.
  • Ensure documentation complies with regulatory requirements and internal policies.

5.Collaboration and Communication:

  • Coordinate with healthcare providers, medical coders, and other staff members to resolve billing-related issues and improve processes.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external parties, including insurance companies and patients, to facilitate smooth billing operations.

 

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or Master's Degree Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in hospital inpatient and outpatient billing or healthcare revenue cycle management.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare insurance policies, reimbursement methodologies, and billing regulations for both inpatient and outpatient services.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of medical coding systems and insurance billing procedures.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in billing documentation.
