Description
- Assist licensed pharmacists in accurately dispensing prescription medications to patients, following established protocols and guidelines.
- Prepare and label prescription medications, ensuring accuracy in dosage, labeling, and packaging.
- Process prescription orders, including data entry into the pharmacy system, verification of insurance coverage, and communication with healthcare providers as needed.
- Maintain pharmacy inventory by monitoring stock levels, rotating stock, and conducting regular inventory audits to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Assist in medication therapy management activities, such as reviewing patient profiles for drug interactions, allergies, and contraindications.
- Provide patient counseling on medication use, including dosage instructions, potential side effects, and proper administration techniques.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and other pharmacy staff, to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Assist with administrative tasks, such as answering phones, processing refill requests, and maintaining patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
