Description

Job Description:

  • As an Intensivist, you will be responsible for the comprehensive care of critically ill patients in our ICU. 
  • You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to provide timely and appropriate medical interventions to optimize patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide round-the-clock coverage in the ICU, including daytime, night-time, and weekend shifts.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of critically ill patients and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Perform invasive procedures such as intubation, central venous catheterization, and arterial line placement.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory studies, imaging studies, and hemodynamic monitoring.
  • Manage mechanical ventilation and other life support measures for patients with respiratory failure.
  • Administer medications and other therapeutic interventions as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and members of the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical research projects to advance patient care practices.
  • Provide supervision and education to residents, fellows, and other healthcare professionals rotating through the ICU.

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree (MBBS) from a recognized institution.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Critical Care Medicine (MD/DNB/DM) or equivalent.
  • Valid medical license to practice in Kerala.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Critical Care Medicine preferred.
  • Minimum of [insert number] years of experience working as an Intensivist in a hospital setting.
  • Proficiency in performing invasive procedures and managing complex medical conditions in the ICU.
