Description

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of critically ill patients in the ICU, including medical history review, physical examination, and interpretation of diagnostic tests and imaging studies.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with complex medical conditions, including respiratory failure, sepsis, shock, acute cardiac events, and multiorgan dysfunction.
  • Provide advanced life support interventions, including mechanical ventilation, hemodynamic monitoring, vasopressor therapy, and renal replacement therapy, as needed.
  • Perform invasive procedures, such as central venous catheterization, arterial line placement, endotracheal intubation, and chest tube insertion, with proficiency and adherence to best practices.
  • Monitor patients' clinical status, vital signs, laboratory values, and response to treatment, adjusting therapy and interventions as necessary to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including nurses, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, consultants, and support staff, to ensure coordinated and integrated care delivery.
  • Participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds, case conferences, and team meetings to discuss patient progress, treatment plans, and discharge planning.
  • Provide education and guidance to patients, families, and caregivers regarding critical illness, treatment options, prognosis, and end-of-life care decisions.
