Description

Conduct comprehensive assessments of critically ill patients in the ICU, including medical history review, physical examination, and interpretation of diagnostic tests and imaging studies.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with complex medical conditions, including respiratory failure, sepsis, shock, acute cardiac events, and multiorgan dysfunction.
Provide advanced life support interventions, including mechanical ventilation, hemodynamic monitoring, vasopressor therapy, and renal replacement therapy, as needed.
Perform invasive procedures, such as central venous catheterization, arterial line placement, endotracheal intubation, and chest tube insertion, with proficiency and adherence to best practices.
Monitor patients' clinical status, vital signs, laboratory values, and response to treatment, adjusting therapy and interventions as necessary to optimize patient outcomes.
Coordinate and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including nurses, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, consultants, and support staff, to ensure coordinated and integrated care delivery.
Participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds, case conferences, and team meetings to discuss patient progress, treatment plans, and discharge planning.
Provide education and guidance to patients, families, and caregivers regarding critical illness, treatment options, prognosis, and end-of-life care decisions.
