Intensivist

Patient Assessment and Management:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of critically ill patients in the ICU.
• Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.

Multidisciplinary Collaboration:

• Collaborate closely with ICU nurses, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver holistic patient care.
• Participate in daily medical rounds and care planning meetings.

Emergency Response:

• Lead and participate in the management of medical emergencies within the ICU.
• Provide immediate interventions and stabilize patients in critical conditions.

Diagnostic Interpretation:

• Interpret diagnostic tests, including imaging studies and laboratory results, to guide treatment decisions.
• Order and perform relevant diagnostic procedures as needed.

Ventilator Management:

• Manage mechanical ventilation for patients requiring respiratory support.
• Adjust ventilator settings based on patient response and clinical indicators.

Procedural Skills:

• Perform and supervise various medical procedures, including central line placements, intubations, and chest tube insertions.
• Ensure adherence to infection control protocols during procedures.

Family Communication:

• Communicate effectively with patients' families, providing updates on medical conditions, treatment plans, and prognosis.
• Address families' concerns and involve them in decision-making when appropriate.
