Description

  • Develop and implement infection prevention and control policies, procedures, and protocols in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, infection control committees, and regulatory agencies.
  • Conduct risk assessments, surveillance activities, and infection control audits to identify potential infection risks, monitor trends in HAIs, and implement targeted interventions to prevent outbreaks.
  • Provide infection control education and training to healthcare staff, including orientation sessions, in-service training, and continuing education, to promote adherence to infection control practices and protocols.
  • Monitor compliance with hand hygiene protocols, isolation precautions, environmental cleaning standards, and other infection control measures, and provide feedback and corrective actions as needed.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret infection control data, including HAI rates, antimicrobial resistance patterns, and compliance with infection control practices, to identify trends, measure performance, and guide quality improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with occupational health and employee health services to implement infection control measures for healthcare personnel, including immunizations, screening, and management of exposure incidents.
  • Serve as a resource and liaison for healthcare providers, patients, families, and community stakeholders regarding infection control practices, outbreak investigations, and infection prevention strategies.
  • Participate in infection control committees, quality improvement teams, and interdisciplinary rounds to address infection-related issues, share best practices, and drive performance improvement in infection prevention and control efforts.
