Infection Surveillance: Conduct ongoing surveillance of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) to identify trends, outbreaks, and areas for improvement in infection control practices.
Policy Development and Implementation: Develop, implement, and update infection prevention and control policies and procedures in accordance with national guidelines and best practices.
Education and Training: Provide education and training to healthcare staff on infection prevention strategies, protocols, and best practices to ensure compliance and enhance patient safety.
Outbreak Investigation: Lead investigations of infection outbreaks, analyzing data, identifying sources, and recommending control measures to prevent further spread.
Compliance Monitoring: Monitor adherence to infection control practices among staff, conducting audits and assessments to ensure compliance with established protocols and standards.
Patient Care Consultation: Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide consultation on infection control practices for patient care, including appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and isolation procedures.
Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze infection control data and prepare reports for hospital leadership, summarizing findings, trends, and recommendations for quality improvement.
