Description

Develop, review, and update infection control policies, protocols, and guidelines in accordance with evidence-based practices, regulatory standards, and industry guidelines.
Implement infection prevention measures, including hand hygiene protocols, isolation precautions, environmental cleaning protocols, and antimicrobial stewardship initiatives, to reduce the risk of HAIs.
Conduct surveillance activities to monitor healthcare-associated infections, including tracking infection rates, identifying trends, and analyzing data to identify potential outbreaks or clusters.
Collaborate with infection control committees, epidemiologists, and public health authorities to report infectious disease outbreaks, investigate transmission routes, and implement control measures.
Provide education and training to healthcare staff on infection prevention and control practices, including proper hand hygiene techniques, personal protective equipment (PPE) use, and safe handling of infectious materials.
Orient new employees and provide ongoing education to ensure compliance with infection control policies and procedures throughout the organization.
