Description

Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients admitted to the ICU, including assessment, diagnosis, and management of acute medical conditions.
Assist in the implementation of treatment plans, including ordering diagnostic tests, interpreting results, and administering appropriate interventions.
Monitor patients' vital signs, laboratory values, and hemodynamic parameters, recognizing and responding promptly to changes in clinical status.
Perform and assist with invasive procedures commonly performed in the ICU, such as central venous catheterization, arterial line placement, endotracheal intubation, and chest tube insertion.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including attending physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, and pharmacists, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
Participate actively in daily rounds, case discussions, and educational activities, including journal clubs, grand rounds, and multidisciplinary conferences.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, documentation, and orders in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing updates on the patient's condition, treatment plan, and prognosis in a compassionate and understandable manner.
