Description
- Provide critical care and monitor patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), ensuring they receive appropriate treatment for life-threatening conditions.
- Assess and stabilize critically ill patients, performing necessary diagnostic tests and procedures as required.
- Administer medications, including sedatives, pain relievers, and vasopressors, under physician supervision to manage patient conditions.
- Collaborate with intensivists, surgeons, nurses, and other medical staff to ensure comprehensive care for ICU patients.
- Maintain and update patient records, including vital signs, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- Assist in the management of ventilators, cardiac monitors, and other life-support equipment used in the ICU.
- Communicate effectively with patients' families, providing updates on their condition and treatment plans.
- Monitor the progress of patients, adjusting treatments as necessary and making decisions regarding further interventions.
- Participate in daily rounds, discussing patient status and providing input on care decisions in the ICU team meetings.
- Stay current with medical advancements and best practices in critical care, attending training sessions and conferences as necessary.
