Description

Evaluate, diagnose, and manage critically ill patients admitted to the ICU, including those with sepsis, respiratory failure, acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), and multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS).
Perform and interpret diagnostic tests and procedures, including arterial blood gas analysis, hemodynamic monitoring, echocardiography, and bedside ultrasound, to assess patients' clinical status and guide treatment.
Initiate and manage mechanical ventilation, including invasive and non-invasive modalities, and provide advanced ventilator management to optimize oxygenation and ventilation in critically ill patients.
Perform critical care procedures, such as central venous catheterization, arterial line placement, endotracheal intubation, and bronchoscopy, as needed to support patient care goals and treatment plans.
Lead daily multidisciplinary rounds and collaborate with nurses, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans and goals.
Provide education, guidance, and mentorship to residents, fellows, and medical students rotating through the ICU, and participate in academic and research activities to advance critical care knowledge and practice.
Adhere to evidence-based guidelines, clinical protocols, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety, outcomes, and the overall delivery of critical care services in the ICU.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers to provide updates on patients' conditions, discuss treatment options, and address their concerns with empathy and compassion.
