Description

Responsibilities:

  • Front Desk Operations: Greet and welcome visitors, patients, and healthcare professionals in a warm and professional manner. Manage the front desk and provide assistance as needed.
  • Appointment Scheduling: Schedule patient appointments, admissions, and procedures efficiently. Coordinate with various departments to ensure accurate scheduling and availability.
  • Patient Registration: Collect and enter patient demographic and insurance information into the electronic health record (EHR) system. Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations.
  • Phone Management: Answer incoming calls, address inquiries, and transfer calls to the appropriate department or staff member. Take messages and relay information accurately.
  • Patient Check-In and Check-Out: Assist patients with the check-in process, provide necessary forms, and collect co-payments or fees. Ensure a smooth check-out process and schedule follow-up appointments.
  • Visitor Assistance: Provide information and directions to visitors, ensuring they have a positive experience while navigating the hospital facility.
  • Patient Relations: Handle patient inquiries, concerns, and complaints with professionalism and empathy. Escalate complex issues to the appropriate department or supervisor.
  • Maintain Reception Area: Keep the reception area clean and organized. Ensure that informational materials are up-to-date and available to patients and visitors.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other administrative and clinical staff to coordinate patient care activities and address administrative needs.
  • Confidentiality: Adhere to patient confidentiality guidelines and handle sensitive information with the utmost discretion.

    Requirements:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Additional certification or training in healthcare administration is a plus.
  • Experience: Proven experience as a receptionist, preferably in a healthcare setting. Familiarity with medical terminology is advantageous.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals, including patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Customer Service: Strong customer service orientation with a friendly and helpful demeanor.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems, scheduling software, and basic office software (e.g., Microsoft Office).
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle unexpected situations calmly and efficiently.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of healthcare professionals.
