Health Care ( Care Taker )

The caregiver is a broad term for professionals who provide personal and emotional support to people who cannot look after themselves. Caregivers work with the elderly and adults depending on their individual work settings. The term “caregiver” is mostly used for people who provide non-medical services to the elderly and patients.

• Monitoring of vital signs during home care i.e blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, and oximeter statistics  
• Monitoring & Recording of blood glucose levels.
• Maintaining Input/ Output chart for patients with Urine Bag
• Maintaining Hygiene of the Patient & Surroundings:
• Assist clients in their activities of daily living such as toileting, diaper changing, bedpan giving, oral care, hair care, nail care, bathing, back care, and grooming
• Perform light housekeeping tasks for patient’s room & washroom sm such as cleaning, dusting,and vacuuming
• Make beds on daily basis and change linen and wash it as required
• Engage clients in physical and mental exercises prescribed by their physician
• Preparing light snack/ meal for a patient

Washing patient’s utensils

• Giving medications to the patient as guided by the patient’s family
• Administration of Condom Catheter as required
• Administration of Oxygen, Nebulization & Steam as required

Do’s:

Always wear an Identity card and Uniform when on duty

Hair should always be tied like a bun

Always take and give handover

Maintain Health Records of the patient

Always be punctual for duty
