Description
- Use their advanced skills to care for patients who are critically ill and at high risk for life threatening health problems.
- Works in critical care unit of hospital or healthcare facility and look after patients who have experiment invasive measure surgery accidents, trauma organ failure.
- Identify patient’s age specific needs and alter care plans as necessary to meet those needs.
- Evaluate patient’s vital signs and laboratory data to determine emergency intervention needs.
- Administer medications IV by injections orally through gastric tubes or by other method.
- Set up and monitor medical equipment and devices such as cardiac monitors mechanical ventilators and alarms oxygen delivery devise transducers and pressure lines.
- Collect specimens for laboratory test.
- Compile and analyze obtained from monitoring or diagnostic tests.
- Documents patient’s medical history and assessment findings.
- Participate in developments review and evaluation of nursing practice protocols.
- Supervise and monitor unit nursing staff.
- Provide support and education that can help patients and their designated surrogate make the best decisions possible.
