Description

Perform surgical procedures within the scope of general surgery, including but not limited to appendectomies, cholecystectomies, hernia repairs, thyroidectomies, and colorectal surgeries.
Conduct pre-operative evaluations, including patient assessments, medical histories, and diagnostic tests, to determine surgical candidacy and develop appropriate treatment plans.
Obtain informed consent from patients or their legal representatives prior to surgery, explaining risks, benefits, and alternatives in a clear and understandable manner.
Provide perioperative care, including pre-operative patient preparation, intraoperative surgical management, and post-operative wound care, pain management, and monitoring.
Utilize surgical techniques and instruments safely and effectively, ensuring proper sterile technique, infection control, and patient safety throughout the surgical process.
Monitor patients' post-operative recovery progress, assess for complications, and intervene as needed to address issues such as infection, bleeding, or adverse reactions to anesthesia.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including anesthesiologists, nurses, surgical technicians, and specialists, to coordinate patient care, optimize surgical outcomes, and facilitate patient discharge.
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and quality improvement initiatives to review patient outcomes, discuss complex cases, and implement best practices in surgical care.
