Job Description

1. Evaluate patients requiring general and laparoscopic surgical procedures.
2. Perform minimally invasive surgeries including laparoscopic cholecystectomy, appendectomy, hernia repair and diagnostic laparoscopy.
3. Conduct detailed pre-operative assessment and explain procedure, risks and benefits to patients and families.
4. Plan and execute surgeries using standard laparoscopic techniques and advanced equipment.
5. Monitor patients during intra-operative and post-operative periods to ensure safe recovery.
6. Manage post-operative complications such as bleeding, infection and ileus.
7. Provide follow-up care including wound management and long-term surgical outcomes.
8. Coordinate with anesthesiologists, nurses and OT staff for smooth surgical workflow.
9. Maintain accurate surgical records, consent forms and operative reports.
10. Follow hospital policies, infection control guidelines and patient safety standards.
11. Participate in emergency surgical duties and on-call rotations.
12. Train and supervise junior doctors, residents and OT staff.
13. Take part in audits, quality improvement programs and continuing medical education.
