Job Description:

  • As a Gastroenterologist, you will be responsible for diagnosing and treating disorders of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, including the oesophagus, stomach, intestines, liver, pancreas, and gallbladder. 
  • You will work closely with other medical professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients and contribute to the overall success of our healthcare facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and treat gastrointestinal conditions, such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), liver disease, and pancreatitis.
  • Perform endoscopic procedures, including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), to evaluate and treat GI disorders.
  • Interpret diagnostic tests, such as laboratory tests, imaging studies, and biopsies, to determine the cause and severity of gastrointestinal conditions.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans for patients based on their medical history, symptoms, and diagnostic findings.
  • Prescribe medication, dietary changes, and lifestyle modifications to manage gastrointestinal conditions and improve patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including primary care physicians, surgeons, radiologists, and nutritionists, to coordinate patient care and ensure continuity of treatment.
  • Educate patients and their families about gastrointestinal conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures to promote wellness and disease prevention.
  • Participate in clinical research, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing medical education activities to enhance clinical knowledge and skills.
  • Adhere to established clinical guidelines, protocols, and regulatory standards to maintain the highest level of patient safety and quality of care.

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized medical school.
  • Postgraduate training in Gastroenterology from a reputable institution.
  • Valid medical license to practice in Kerala, India.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Gastroenterology preferred.
  • Proven experience in diagnosing and treating gastrointestinal conditions in a clinical setting.
  • Proficiency in performing endoscopic procedures, including gastroscopy and colonoscopy.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.
  • Willingness to participate in multidisciplinary teams and quality improvement initiatives.
