Description

Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients with gastrointestinal complaints, including medical history review, physical examination, and interpretation of diagnostic tests such as endoscopy, colonoscopy, imaging studies (e.g., CT scans, MRI), and laboratory tests (e.g., blood tests, stool tests).
Diagnose and treat a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions, including gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), peptic ulcer disease, liver disease, pancreatic disorders, gastrointestinal cancers, and motility disorders.
Perform gastrointestinal procedures and interventions as needed, including upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), liver biopsy, polypectomy, hemostasis, dilation, stent placement, and enteral stent placement.
Develop personalized treatment plans tailored to each patient's specific condition, medical history, risk factors, and preferences, which may include medication management, dietary modifications, lifestyle changes, or surgical interventions.
Provide patient education on gastrointestinal health, including disease management, medication adherence, dietary recommendations, and lifestyle modifications to promote optimal digestive health and quality of life.
Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals, including primary care physicians, surgeons, radiologists, oncologists, nutritionists, and nurse practitioners, to provide coordinated and multidisciplinary care for patients with complex gastrointestinal conditions.
Participate in departmental meetings, case conferences, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes, including participation in research studies and clinical trials.
Stay abreast of the latest advancements in gastroenterology through continuing medical education, attendance at conferences, and engagement in research activities.
