Description

Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history reviews, physical examinations, and symptom evaluations, to diagnose gastrointestinal disorders.
Perform and interpret diagnostic tests and procedures, such as endoscopies (colonoscopies, upper endoscopies), biopsies, imaging studies (CT scans, MRIs, ultrasound), and laboratory tests, to aid in the diagnosis and evaluation of gastrointestinal conditions.
Develop individualized treatment plans for patients with gastrointestinal disorders, incorporating medical management, lifestyle modifications, and procedural interventions as appropriate.
Perform endoscopic procedures, including biopsies, polypectomies, dilation, stent placements, and other therapeutic interventions, with proficiency and attention to patient safety.
Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team, including primary care physicians, surgeons, radiologists, and nutritionists, to provide comprehensive and coordinated care to patients.
Educate patients and their families about gastrointestinal conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures, and address any questions or concerns they may have.
Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences and meetings to discuss complex cases, formulate treatment plans, and coordinate care for patients with complex gastrointestinal conditions.
Stay current with developments in gastroenterology, including emerging treatments, advances in endoscopic techniques, and changes in clinical practice guidelines, through continuing medical education and professional development activities.
