Description
- Conduct regular inspections of the healthcare facility to identify potential fire hazards, ensuring compliance with fire safety regulations.
- Perform risk assessments to evaluate fire safety risks and implement corrective actions to address any vulnerabilities.
- Develop and maintain fire and safety policies in line with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Ensure that the healthcare facility complies with safety standards and is prepared for fire emergencies through documented policies and procedures.
- Provide fire safety training to healthcare staff, including the proper use of firefighting equipment, evacuation routes, and emergency protocols.
- Conduct regular fire drills and emergency response exercises to familiarize staff with evacuation procedures and emergency roles.
- Act as the primary contact in fire or emergency situations, coordinating with local fire departments and emergency response teams.
- Develop, implement, and review evacuation plans to ensure efficient and safe evacuation during emergencies.
- Ensure fire extinguishers, alarms, sprinklers, emergency lighting, and other firefighting equipment are regularly inspected and maintained.
- Coordinate with maintenance staff or external contractors to schedule repairs or replacements of faulty equipment as necessary.
- Investigate fire or safety incidents, documenting findings, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, training, incident reports, and fire drill evaluations for regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with healthcare staff, maintenance personnel, and local emergency services to promote a culture of safety within the facility.
- Act as a resource for healthcare staff on fire safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Regularly review fire and safety policies, updating them based on new regulations, technological advancements, and facility needs.
- Conduct periodic safety audits to monitor compliance with fire safety policies and improve the facility's fire safety readiness.
