Description
- Prepare and set up the ERCP procedure room with necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies.
- Assist gastroenterologists and endoscopists during ERCP procedures, including positioning patients, passing instruments, and handling specimens.
- Operate and monitor specialized ERCP equipment, including endoscopes, fluoroscopy machines, and accessories, ensuring proper functionality and safety.
- Assist with patient sedation and monitoring throughout the procedure, under the direction of the anesthesia provider or supervising physician.
- Provide direct patient care and support during ERCP procedures, addressing patient needs, concerns, and comfort.
- Prepare and administer contrast media and other medications as directed by the gastroenterologist or endoscopist.
- Maintain accurate documentation of ERCP procedures, including patient records, procedural details, and medication administration, in accordance with regulatory requirements and departmental policies.
- Assist with post-procedure care and monitoring of patients in the recovery area, monitoring vital signs, assessing patient condition, and addressing any immediate post-procedure complications.
