Patient Assessment: Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients with hearing and balance disorders, including detailed medical histories, physical examinations, and audiometric testing to assess auditory function.
Diagnostic Testing: Perform a variety of diagnostic tests, such as pure-tone audiometry, tympanometry, and otoacoustic emissions testing, to identify hearing loss types and degrees and determine the appropriate interventions.
Hearing Aid Fitting and Management: Prescribe, fit, and maintain hearing aids and assistive listening devices, providing patients with guidance on their proper use and care.
Rehabilitation Services: Develop and implement individualized rehabilitation plans for patients with hearing loss, including auditory training and counseling to improve communication skills and overall quality of life.
Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about hearing health, treatment options, and preventive measures to promote awareness and encourage proactive management of hearing-related issues.
Collaboration with Healthcare Providers: Work closely with ENT specialists, speech-language pathologists, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for patients with hearing and balance disorders.
Research and Professional Development: Stay current with advancements in audiology and hearing healthcare through continuing education, research participation, and involvement in professional organizations.
Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including assessment results, treatment plans, and progress notes, ensuring compliance with legal, ethical, and institutional standards.
