Description

Preparation of Equipment: Set up, test, and maintain endoscopy equipment and instruments before procedures, ensuring all tools are sterile and in proper working order.
Patient Preparation: Assist in preparing patients for endoscopy procedures by explaining the process, verifying patient identity, and ensuring they are properly positioned and comfortable.
Assisting During Procedures: Support physicians during endoscopic procedures by passing instruments, adjusting equipment, and assisting with any tasks necessary to ensure a smooth and efficient process.
Equipment Sterilization and Maintenance: Clean, disinfect, and sterilize endoscopic instruments and equipment following each procedure, adhering to hospital or clinic infection control standards.
Monitoring and Documentation: Monitor patients during procedures and record details such as patient condition, procedure duration, and any complications or unusual findings, ensuring accurate documentation.
Post-Procedure Care: Assist in post-procedure activities, such as removing equipment, monitoring patients as they recover, and providing post-procedure instructions under the supervision of medical staff.
Inventory and Supply Management: Maintain an adequate inventory of endoscopy supplies and ensure equipment is regularly checked and serviced to prevent malfunctions or delays during procedures.
Collaboration with Medical Staff: Work closely with gastroenterologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety and the efficient operation of the endoscopy suite.
