Description

Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients scheduled for EMG procedures, including review of medical history, neurological examination, and assessment of vital signs.
Educate patients about the EMG procedure, explaining its purpose, benefits, and potential discomforts, and address any questions or concerns they may have.
Prepare patients for EMG testing, including positioning, skin preparation, and application of surface electrodes or needles, ensuring patient comfort and cooperation throughout the procedure.
Assist physicians or neurologists during EMG testing, providing support with electrode placement, equipment setup, and patient monitoring, and ensuring adherence to established protocols and safety guidelines.
Monitor patients during EMG procedures, assessing for signs of discomfort, distress, or adverse reactions, and intervene promptly to address any concerns or complications.
Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients during the testing process, maintaining a calm and comforting demeanor to help alleviate anxiety and promote relaxation.
