Description

  • Conduct initial assessments and triage of patients presenting to the emergency department (ED), prioritizing care based on severity of illness, injury, or medical condition.
  • Perform comprehensive medical evaluations, including history-taking, physical examinations, diagnostic tests, and interpretation of imaging studies, to diagnose and manage acute medical conditions and emergencies.
  • Provide timely and appropriate medical treatment and interventions to stabilize patients, relieve symptoms, and prevent further deterioration of health status.
  • Manage medical emergencies, trauma cases, cardiac arrests, respiratory distress, and other critical conditions, following established protocols and advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) guidelines.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, laboratory studies, electrocardiograms (ECGs), and imaging studies to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Perform or assist with emergent medical procedures and interventions, such as intubation, central line placement, chest tube insertion, lumbar puncture, and fracture reduction.
  • Coordinate patient care and consultations with specialty services, including surgery, cardiology, neurology, obstetrics, pediatrics, and psychiatry, as needed for comprehensive management of complex cases.
  • Provide compassionate and patient-centered care, addressing patients' physical and emotional needs, providing education about their medical conditions, and ensuring informed decision-making regarding treatment options.
