Description

Patient Assessment:

  • Quickly assess patients’ conditions upon arrival.
  • Determine the urgency of conditions through triage, prioritizing treatment based on severity.

Diagnosis & Treatment:

  • Diagnose and treat a wide variety of medical conditions, from trauma to internal emergencies such as strokes, heart attacks, respiratory distress, and more.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., X-rays, MRIs, blood tests).
  • Administer life-saving procedures, including CPR, intubation, defibrillation, and emergency surgery if necessary.

Emergency Care & Stabilization:

  • Provide immediate interventions to stabilize patients.
  • Administer medications, pain relief, and other therapeutic interventions.

Collaboration & Coordination:

  • Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, surgeons, and specialists.
  • Consult with other physicians to determine appropriate care plans.
  • Facilitate patient transfers to other departments or facilities when necessary.

Record Keeping & Documentation:

  • Maintain detailed patient records, documenting diagnoses, treatment plans, medications administered, and follow-up care.

Communication:

  • Communicate clearly with patients and their families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and care plans.
  • Provide reassurance and explain complex medical conditions in understandable terms.

Crisis Management:

  • Be prepared to handle mass casualty events or disaster scenarios.
  • Participate in hospital-wide emergency drills and crisis management planning.
