Description
- Respond to emergency calls promptly and safely, providing medical assistance to patients in accordance with established protocols and standards of care.
- Conduct primary and secondary patient assessments to evaluate injuries, illnesses, and medical conditions, prioritizing treatment based on the severity of the situation.
- Administer basic and advanced life support interventions, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), airway management, oxygen therapy, and bleeding control, as needed to stabilize patients.
- Perform patient extrication, immobilization, and transportation using appropriate lifting and moving techniques and medical equipment, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the transport process.
- Communicate effectively with patients, family members, bystanders, and other healthcare professionals, providing reassurance, conveying information, and coordinating care as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation of patient assessments, interventions, vital signs, and medical histories in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Clean, restock, and maintain ambulances and medical equipment to ensure readiness for emergency response, conducting routine checks and inspections as required.
- Participate in continuing education and training programs to maintain licensure and certification, stay updated on advances in emergency medicine, and enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
- Adhere to organizational policies, procedures, and protocols, including safety guidelines, infection control practices, and patient confidentiality standards, to ensure quality care delivery and compliance with regulatory requirements.
