Job Description

1. Provide immediate medical care to patients presenting in the emergency department.
2. Perform triage and prioritize patients based on severity of condition.
3. Manage medical, surgical and trauma emergencies including resuscitation.
4. Stabilize patients and arrange timely referral or admission to appropriate units.
5. Perform emergency procedures such as intubation, suturing and chest tube insertion.
6. Interpret ECGs, imaging and laboratory results for rapid diagnosis.
7. Coordinate with consultants, ICU, OT and nursing staff for critical cases.
8. Handle medico-legal cases and maintain proper emergency documentation.
9. Counsel patients and attendants regarding condition and emergency treatment.
10. Ensure compliance with emergency protocols, infection control and patient safety standards.
