Description

  • Perform echocardiographic examinations using ultrasound equipment to visualize cardiac structures, chambers, and valves.
  • Obtain optimal imaging planes and adjust equipment settings to capture high-quality images of the heart.
  • Assess cardiac function, including systolic and diastolic function, wall motion abnormalities, and valvular pathology, using 2D, M-mode, Doppler, and color flow techniques.
  • Prepare patients for echocardiographic procedures by explaining the exam, obtaining relevant medical history, and positioning patients appropriately for imaging.
  • Assist with the placement of electrocardiogram (ECG) leads and other monitoring devices as needed for comprehensive cardiac assessment.
  • Analyze echocardiographic images to identify abnormalities, measure cardiac dimensions, and calculate cardiac parameters, such as ejection fraction and chamber volumes.
  • Collaborate with cardiologists to interpret findings, formulate diagnostic impressions, and develop patient management plans.
  • Document echocardiography findings, measurements, and interpretations accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) or other designated systems.
  • Generate comprehensive echocardiography reports in a timely manner, ensuring clarity, completeness, and adherence to departmental protocols.
  • Perform routine maintenance and quality assurance checks on echocardiography equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with regulatory standards.
