Description
- Prepare patients for echocardiography procedures, explain the imaging process, and obtain informed consent when necessary.
- Operate echocardiography equipment to acquire cardiac images, including two-dimensional (2D), three-dimensional (3D), and Doppler ultrasound images.
- Perform transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE), stress echocardiograms, transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE), and other specialized echocardiography studies as directed by cardiologists.
- Adjust imaging parameters, optimize image quality, and ensure comprehensive visualization of cardiac structures and functions.
- Analyze echocardiography images, measurements, and Doppler waveforms to assess cardiac chamber dimensions, wall motion abnormalities, valvular function, and hemodynamics.
- Identify and document abnormalities, artifacts, and technical limitations in echocardiography studies for interpretation by cardiologists.
- Assist cardiologists in performing image-guided procedures, such as echocardiography-guided biopsies, pericardiocentesis, and intraoperative assessments.
- Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and quality control checks on echocardiography equipment to ensure proper functioning and image accuracy.
- Troubleshoot technical issues, perform minor repairs, and report equipment malfunctions or deficiencies to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain records of equipment maintenance, quality assurance activities, and accreditation requirements in compliance with regulatory standards.
