Description

  • Patient Assessment: Conduct initial assessments of patients admitted to the hospital or clinic, including taking medical histories, performing physical examinations, and ordering necessary tests.
  • Routine Medical Care: Provide general medical care to inpatients, ensuring that their treatment plans are followed, and administering medications, IV fluids, and other interventions as needed.
  • Emergency Response: Act as the first responder to medical emergencies within the hospital, providing stabilization, resuscitation, and immediate care until the appropriate specialist arrives.
  • Coordination with Specialists: Liaise with senior doctors, consultants, and specialists to ensure timely referrals and consultations for patients requiring specialized care or surgical interventions.
  • Patient Monitoring: Regularly monitor the progress of patients, adjusting treatment plans as necessary and responding to any changes in their conditions during the shift.
  • Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting all treatments, medications, and changes in patient status in accordance with hospital protocols.
  • Patient and Family Communication: Communicate effectively with patients and their families, explaining diagnoses, treatment plans, and addressing any questions or concerns.
  • Shift Handover: Provide detailed handover reports to the incoming medical team at the end of the shift, ensuring continuity of care and highlighting any critical cases or outstanding issues.
