Patient Assessment and Care: Provide immediate assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to patients admitted in emergency, ICU, or general wards, ensuring timely and appropriate medical attention.
Emergency Response: Respond to medical emergencies, stabilize patients, and provide urgent care, including resuscitation, wound care, and basic life support, until further specialized care is available.
Routine Medical Rounds: Conduct routine patient rounds to monitor their condition, review treatment plans, and ensure ongoing medical care as prescribed by the attending physician or specialist.
Coordination with Specialists: Communicate and collaborate with consultants and specialists, ensuring patients receive advanced care when needed and implementing recommendations for further management.
Patient Documentation: Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records, including medical histories, treatment plans, and progress notes, ensuring timely updates in the hospital's medical information system.
Medication Administration: Prescribe and administer medications as per the treatment plan, monitoring for effectiveness and side effects, and adjusting dosages when necessary.
Patient and Family Communication: Communicate effectively with patients and their families, explaining diagnoses, treatment plans, and care options, while addressing concerns and questions.
Infection Control: Adhere to infection control protocols and safety standards, ensuring that patients are treated in a sterile and clean environment to prevent hospital-acquired infections.
Shift Handover: Provide a detailed handover to the incoming medical officer at the end of the shift, ensuring continuity of care by discussing critical cases and ongoing treatment plans.
Compliance with Hospital Policies: Ensure compliance with hospital policies, ethical guidelines, and medical regulations, while maintaining a high standard of patient care and safety.
