Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Duty Medical Officer (DMO) to join our healthcare team. The Duty Medical Officer will be responsible for providing medical care and treatment to patients in our healthcare facility during their scheduled shifts. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background, excellent diagnostic skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. This position requires a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care, effective communication with colleagues and patients, and adherence to ethical and professional standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide medical care and treatment to patients presenting at the healthcare facility, including assessment, diagnosis, and management of medical conditions.
  • Conduct thorough medical examinations and evaluations of patients to determine the appropriate course of treatment.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as laboratory tests, imaging studies, and electrocardiograms (ECGs), to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Prescribe medications, treatments, and therapies according to established protocols and guidelines, taking into account patient-specific factors such as medical history, allergies, and contraindications.
  • Monitor patient progress and response to treatment, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Provide counseling and education to patients and their families regarding their medical conditions, treatment options, and preventive care measures.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, specialists, and allied health staff, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all patients seen during shifts, including documentation of medical history, physical examination findings, diagnostic test results, and treatment plans.
  • Adhere to established protocols, policies, and procedures related to patient care, safety, and infection control.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care delivery and outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree (MBBS) from a recognized medical school.
  • Valid medical license to practice as a physician in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of clinical experience, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting.
  • Strong clinical skills and proficiency in medical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care.
  • Proficiency in medical documentation and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in emergency medicine, urgent care, or primary care settings.
  • Knowledge of relevant medical guidelines, protocols, and best practices.
  • Experience with telemedicine platforms and virtual patient care delivery.
