Description

  • Immediately responding to medical/health problems presented by patients including history taking, detailed examination, diagnosing, investigating appropriately, initiating treatment and referral as appropriate for all OPD and ER patients; monitoring and providing general care to patients in hospital wards, ICU, Dialysis and in ER.
  • Admitting with detailed notes of all patients, followed by investigations and treatment prescription; Obtaining required Consent from patient or patient’s surrogate whenever / wherever required, follow up on investigations and report to Consultants to get their directions, follow up and ensure all medications are being received by all patients on time.
  • Inform and discuss with MS and Intensivist of all Emergency cases in Casualty or wards, MLC cases and ahead of all ICU admissions.
  • Go for rounds with consultants during their ward, dialysis & ICU visits.
  • Carrying out specific procedures as warranted or under supervision e.g. specialist investigations/ procedures.
  • Monitoring and administering medication and intravenous infusions.
  • Making notes, completion of MLC registers, Insurance claim forms, Birth / Death certificates both as a legal record of treatment and for the benefit of other healthcare professionals; preparation of discharge summary.
  • IP cases should be discussed with their respective consultants ahead of discharge /AMA.
  • Report to Medical Supt. during each shift related to day to day activities.
