Description
- Set up and prepare dialysis machines and equipment for patient treatments according to established protocols and procedures.
- Monitor and assess patient vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and oxygen saturation, before, during, and after dialysis treatments.
- Initiate and terminate dialysis treatments as directed by healthcare providers, ensuring proper catheter insertion and connection to dialysis equipment.
- Administer prescribed medications, intravenous (IV) fluids, and heparin as ordered by physicians during dialysis treatments, following medication administration protocols and safety guidelines.
- Monitor patients' response to dialysis therapy, observing for signs of adverse reactions or complications, and report any abnormalities to nursing staff or physicians promptly.
- Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients undergoing dialysis therapy, addressing their concerns, and ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout the treatment process.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient information, dialysis treatments, vital signs, medications administered, and other relevant data in electronic medical records (EMR) or dialysis logs.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of dialysis machines and equipment, including disinfection, calibration, and troubleshooting minor technical issues to ensure optimal performance and safety.
