Description
- Conduct comprehensive developmental assessments of infants and young children to evaluate their cognitive, motor, communication, social-emotional, and adaptive skills, using standardized assessment tools, observation, and parent interviews.
- Identify areas of developmental delay or disability and formulate individualized therapy goals and intervention plans based on assessment findings, clinical judgment, and evidence-based practice guidelines.
- Provide direct therapeutic interventions to children, focusing on promoting developmental milestones, enhancing skills acquisition, and addressing areas of delay or deficit in areas such as gross motor, fine motor, sensory processing, communication, and socialization.
- Implement a variety of therapeutic techniques and strategies, including play-based therapy, sensory integration techniques, motor skill development activities, language and communication interventions, and behavioral strategies tailored to each child's unique needs and learning style.
- Collaborate with families to establish family-centered goals, provide education and support, and teach caregivers strategies and techniques to promote their child's development and facilitate carryover of therapy goals into the home environment.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including pediatricians, occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, educators, and social workers, to coordinate care, referrals, and integrated services for children and families.
- Monitor children's progress and response to therapy, conducting ongoing assessments, tracking developmental outcomes, and adjusting therapy plans as needed to optimize therapeutic outcomes and support developmental growth.
