Description

Unit Management: Oversee the daily operations of the CTVS ICU, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care for patients recovering from cardiothoracic and vascular surgeries.
Staff Leadership: Manage and supervise the nursing and support staff within the CTVS ICU, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations to maintain high standards of patient care.
Patient Care Coordination: Coordinate and facilitate comprehensive care for critically ill patients post-cardiac and thoracic surgery, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Monitoring and Assessment: Continuously monitor patient vital signs and clinical status, assessing for complications and making timely decisions to initiate appropriate interventions or escalate care as needed.
Quality Assurance and Compliance: Implement and monitor quality assurance protocols, ensuring adherence to hospital policies, clinical guidelines, and regulatory requirements to enhance patient safety and outcomes.
Emergency Response Management: Lead the response to emergencies and critical situations within the unit, ensuring timely and effective interventions and coordination with medical teams.
Family Support and Communication: Provide support to patients and their families, facilitating clear communication regarding treatment plans, progress, and discharge planning, while addressing their concerns and needs.
Education and Training: Promote and facilitate ongoing education and training for ICU staff on best practices, new technologies, and advancements in cardiothoracic care to ensure optimal patient management.
