Description

Perform CT scans on patients according to physician orders and established protocols, ensuring accurate positioning, image acquisition, and patient safety throughout the procedure.
Prepare patients for CT scans by explaining procedures, obtaining patient history, verifying patient identity and medical records, and addressing any concerns or questions.
Operate CT equipment to capture cross-sectional images of the body, adjusting scan parameters as needed to obtain optimal image quality and resolution.
Monitor patients during scans, observing for any adverse reactions or discomfort, and responding promptly to address patient needs or concerns.
Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to review imaging results, identify abnormalities or pathology, and assist in making diagnostic interpretations.
Maintain accurate records of patient information, scan parameters, and imaging findings, documenting observations and communicating relevant information to healthcare providers.
Perform routine maintenance and quality control checks on CT equipment, troubleshooting technical issues, and notifying appropriate personnel of any malfunctions or deficiencies.
Adhere to radiation safety protocols and regulatory guidelines, ensuring proper use of radiation shielding and minimizing radiation exposure to patients, staff, and visitors.
Participate in departmental meetings, training sessions, and continuing education activities to stay updated with advancements in CT technology and imaging techniques.
Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations and ethical standards in handling sensitive medical records and imaging data.
