Description
- Receive, inspect, and decontaminate medical instruments and equipment according to established protocols and regulatory guidelines.
- Assemble instrument sets and trays for sterilization, ensuring completeness and functionality of all components.
- Operate sterilization equipment, such as autoclaves, ethylene oxide (EO) sterilizers, and hydrogen peroxide gas plasma sterilizers, following manufacturer instructions and safety protocols.
- Monitor sterilization cycles, including time, temperature, and pressure parameters, to ensure effective sterilization of instruments and equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance and quality control checks on sterilization equipment, documenting results and reporting any issues to management.
- Prepare and package sterilized instruments and equipment for storage and distribution, labeling items appropriately for easy identification.
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization activities, including load contents, cycle parameters, and sterilization logs, in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Monitor inventory levels of sterile supplies and reordering as needed to ensure availability for patient care.
