Description

Perform decontamination, cleaning, and sterilization of medical instruments and equipment using appropriate methods and equipment, such as autoclaves, ultrasonic cleaners, and chemical sterilants.
Inspect, assemble, and package sterilized instruments and equipment according to established protocols, ensuring proper functionality and compliance with standards.
Monitor and record sterilization parameters, including time, temperature, and pressure, to verify the effectiveness of sterilization processes and maintain accurate documentation.
Maintain inventory of sterile supplies, surgical instruments, and equipment, including proper storage, labeling, and rotation to ensure availability and traceability.
Assist with inventory management tasks, including ordering supplies, restocking shelves, and conducting periodic inventory counts to maintain adequate stock levels.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including nurses, surgeons, and operating room staff, to prioritize instrument needs, address issues, and support patient care.
Adhere to infection control protocols and standards, including proper hand hygiene, personal protective equipment (PPE) use, and environmental cleaning, to prevent healthcare-associated infections (HAIs).
Perform routine maintenance and calibration of sterilization equipment, troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, and coordinating repairs as needed.
