Description

Clean, decontaminate, and disinfect reusable medical instruments and equipment following established protocols and guidelines.
Operate and monitor sterilization equipment, such as autoclaves, to ensure proper functioning and adherence to sterilization parameters.
Assemble and package sterilized instruments and supplies using appropriate wrapping and sealing techniques to maintain sterility.
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of sterilization equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
Conduct quality control checks, including biological and chemical indicators, to verify the effectiveness of sterilization processes.
Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles, equipment maintenance, and inventory levels using computerized tracking systems.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals, surgical teams, and other departmental staff to fulfil instrument requests and meet surgical schedules.
Monitor and maintain stock levels of sterile supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate inventory for daily operations.
Adhere to infection control protocols, including hand hygiene, personal protective equipment (PPE) use, and environmental cleaning, to prevent the spread of infections.
Participate in departmental meetings, training sessions, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance CSSD processes and procedures.
