Description

A critical care specialist is a health care professional responsible for investigating, diagonising,and treating patients that requires critical care.
After taking a referral from the general medical practitioner,he or she is responsible for examining patients.
Diagnose and manage critically ill patients in the ICU, including those with respiratory failure, sepsis, cardiac emergencies, and other life-threatening conditions.
Conduct thorough and timely assessments of patients' conditions.
Perform and supervise a range of medical procedures required in critical care, including intubation, central line placement, arterial line insertion, and ventilator management.
Provide direction to the healthcare team during emergencies.
Work collaboratively with nurses, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other specialists to coordinate patient care.
Facilitate effective communication among team members.
Provide leadership in the ICU, overseeing patient care and coordinating activities among the healthcare team.
Make critical decisions during emergencies and high-stress situations.
