Description

Provide individual and group counseling to cancer patients, survivors, and their families, addressing emotional and psychological needs associated with the cancer experience.
Conduct psychosocial assessments to understand the unique needs and challenges of each patient and family.
Offer emotional support and coping strategies to help individuals navigate the emotional impact of a cancer diagnosis and treatment.
Provide information and education about the emotional and psychological aspects of cancer, treatment options, and coping mechanisms.
Work collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team, including oncologists, nurses, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Facilitate or co-facilitate support groups for patients, survivors, and their families to encourage peer support and sharing of experiences.
Offer crisis intervention and emotional support during critical phases of cancer treatment or in the event of a cancer-related crisis.
Advocate for the psychosocial needs of cancer patients and their families within the healthcare system.
Maintain accurate and confidential records of counseling sessions, assessments, and interventions.
