Description
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, including psychiatric history, mental status examination, and review of systems, to formulate accurate diagnostic impressions and treatment plans.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practices and tailored to meet the unique needs and preferences of each patient.
- Provide psychiatric medication management, including prescribing, monitoring, and adjusting psychotropic medications, and educating patients about medication risks, benefits, and side effects.
- Deliver psychotherapy and counseling services, utilizing various therapeutic modalities such as cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), interpersonal therapy (IPT), and dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), to address patients' psychological and emotional issues.
- Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals, including psychologists, social workers, nurses, occupational therapists, and primary care providers, to ensure integrated and holistic care for patients.
- Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings, case conferences, and clinical rounds to discuss patient progress, treatment planning, and coordination of care.
- Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to junior psychiatry residents, medical students, and other healthcare trainees, and participate in educational activities and training programs.
- Conduct psychiatric consultations and evaluations in various clinical settings, including outpatient clinics, inpatient units, emergency departments, and community mental health centers.
