Description

Responsible for the overall technical operations of the laboratory
Responsible for overall inventory control and roster management.
Should be well versed with the processes in each department
Check quality control in all departments assigned.
Verification of results and signing of final test reports in the field of Hematology Biochemistry, Clinical Pathology, Cytopathology, and Histopathology & Serology.
Can ask for a rerun of a test if any discrepancy is noticed or to cross verify the results.
Monitor turnaround time.
Conduct training of the lab staff.
Checking of competency of the lab staff and identifying the training need.
Identify & take corrective action on the non-conformities taking place in daily activity.
Provide advice to those requesting information about the choice of tests, use of laboratory service and the interpretation of laboratory data.

The Consultant Pathologist Defines Implements and Monitors Standards of performance and Quality Management System.
Doctor has ensures that there are sufficient qualified Personnel with Adequate Documented training and experience to meet the needs of the laboratory.
Specifies and / or approves all test methods to be used
Follow code of professional ethics and implements good laboratory practices by providing instructions and training as needed, develops work plans, procedures and ensure their implementation in all day to day operations
