Description
- We are looking for a bright enthusiastic Ophthalmologist to join our expanding Ophthalmology department, this individual should have a sound general ophthalmic raining and additionally should have sub-specialist training in Glaucoma.
- The successful candidate is expected to be on the specialist register, or eligible to enter the specialist register within the next six months.
- They will be joining a dynamic unit that provides most ophthalmic sub-specialty services to it local population.
- A working week for a full-time consultant is comprised of 10 programmed activities (PAs) each.
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to assess vision and diagnose ocular conditions, including refractive errors, glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and other eye diseases.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs, medical history, and examination findings, which may include prescribing medications, corrective lenses, or recommending surgical intervention.
- Perform surgical procedures such as cataract extraction, LASIK, PRK, corneal transplant, glaucoma surgery, and retinal surgery, adhering to established surgical protocols and safety standards.
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative care for surgical patients, monitoring their progress, managing complications, and ensuring optimal surgical outcomes.
- Educate patients about their eye conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures to maintain eye health and minimize the risk of future complications.
