Description

  • Conduct comprehensive neurological evaluations of patients presenting with a variety of symptoms, including but not limited to headaches, seizures, movement disorders, cognitive impairment, and peripheral neuropathies.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as MRI scans, EEGs, nerve conduction studies, and lumbar punctures to aid in the diagnosis and management of neurological conditions.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans for patients based on their diagnosis, medical history, and preferences, utilizing evidence-based approaches and incorporating patient education and counseling.
  • Prescribe medication and other therapeutic interventions, such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy, as appropriate for managing neurological symptoms and improving patient outcomes.
  • Perform and interpret specialized procedures and tests, including botulinum toxin injections for spasticity management, electromyography (EMG), and nerve conduction studies.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including neurosurgeons, neuropsychologists, neurophysiologists, and rehabilitation specialists, to provide multidisciplinary care for patients with complex neurological conditions.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, case conferences, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance the quality and efficiency of neurological services.
  • Engage in academic and scholarly activities, including teaching medical students, residents, and fellows, and participating in clinical research projects and publications.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and institutional policies.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, empathy, and compassion in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues, fostering a supportive and respectful healthcare environment.
