Description

Conduct comprehensive neurological evaluations of patients presenting with a variety of symptoms, including but not limited to headaches, seizures, movement disorders, cognitive impairment, and peripheral neuropathies.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as MRI scans, EEGs, nerve conduction studies, and lumbar punctures to aid in the diagnosis and management of neurological conditions.
Develop individualized treatment plans for patients based on their diagnosis, medical history, and preferences, utilizing evidence-based approaches and incorporating patient education and counseling.
Prescribe medication and other therapeutic interventions, such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy, as appropriate for managing neurological symptoms and improving patient outcomes.
Perform and interpret specialized procedures and tests, including botulinum toxin injections for spasticity management, electromyography (EMG), and nerve conduction studies.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including neurosurgeons, neuropsychologists, neurophysiologists, and rehabilitation specialists, to provide multidisciplinary care for patients with complex neurological conditions.
Participate in departmental meetings, case conferences, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance the quality and efficiency of neurological services.
Engage in academic and scholarly activities, including teaching medical students, residents, and fellows, and participating in clinical research projects and publications.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and institutional policies.
Demonstrate professionalism, empathy, and compassion in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues, fostering a supportive and respectful healthcare environment.
