Description

Diagnose and manage a wide range of kidney-related conditions, including chronic kidney disease (CKD), acute kidney injury (AKI), glomerulonephritis, nephrotic syndrome, electrolyte imbalances, and hypertension.
Perform comprehensive nephrology evaluations, including medical history assessments, physical examinations, and interpretation of diagnostic tests such as urinalysis, serum creatinine, glomerular filtration rate (GFR) estimation, and kidney biopsies.
Develop individualized treatment plans based on patients' clinical presentations, diagnostic findings, and evidence-based guidelines. This may include prescribing medications, recommending dietary modifications, and coordinating dialysis or kidney transplantation when necessary.
Perform and interpret procedures related to nephrology, including hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), and kidney biopsies.
Provide pre-dialysis and post-transplant care for patients undergoing renal replacement therapy or kidney transplantation, including assessment, counseling, and management of complications.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including nephrology nurses, dialysis technicians, dietitians, social workers, and transplant coordinators, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical research, and academic activities to advance the field of nephrology and improve patient care outcomes.
Provide leadership and mentorship to junior medical staff, nephrology fellows, and other healthcare professionals within the nephrology department.
Uphold ethical principles, patient confidentiality, and professional integrity in all aspects of clinical practice.
